my go to is a glock 30. 10 rounds of 45 in a nice compact package. I've had several glocks over the years and have never felt any emotional attachment to any of them. I hate the trigger feel and the composite parts - but when it comes down to it, the glock works. no extraneous sh*t to hang up on clothes/tankbag, no safety/decockers to putz with.

not sure what else is even available thats comparable. once I got this one I stopped looking.

i'm just offering my input on your choice not really wanting to sell mine.

...although if you had a nice 1911 to trade...

For polymer I prefer Springfield Armory's XD or XDm.

If you don't like plastic then you can't go wrong with a good 1911.

Fully loaded both weigh about the same.

I second the Glocks. The past 2 weekends have been the firearms qualifications for my academy class and i watched way to many XD's FTF, Double feed, FTE, ect for my taste.

I carry a Bursa .380 ACP and I like it a lot. It'll go right into your pocket and I've had no problems with the functionality. Also, cheap!

Edit: Come to think of it a lady I know here in Ashland is selling a Beretta, not sure the name of the model name. It's like custom short or something. It's just small enough I believe you could carry it. If you are interested and want more info I'll get it for you, I know she was wanting 400 for it.

I love my PM9, but you wanted a 40-45. They have a new cheaper CM9, but don't have it in 40 or 45 yet.

These will be the smallest most reliable semi-autos you will find!

I've been carrying a Glock 27 compact .40 for 15 years. The finish has worn off some of the edges.

I'm not going to lie, I have seen Glocks break. On the SWAT team we put thousands of rounds through our guns, and breaks did occur. A few times Glock would advance to the next generation and the problem would be solved. Having said that, you abuse any gun long enough and it will break. I am still a firm supporter of Glock as a down-to-business fighting handgun. They aren't pretty, but they freakin' work.

Maybe if I were to test another brand over another 15 years of day-to-day use, including 9 years of SWAT use, I would have no problem saying that Glock isn't the only clear choice. Unfortunately, I don't have the service life to make that possible. So, Glock is my fighting gun choice. I love me some 1911 in a romantic way, but I just don't have the work history with it to make me trust it like I trust my Glocks.
