missing fingers on roadracers is a common injury.

at one point they were interviewing Doohan and I noticed he's missing at least one as well.

they either spoke about it on the broadcast or I read somewhere that cornerworkers were sent back to retrieve his glove after he was whisked away and shortly after some of his crew were back scouring the area. it was implied that were looking for a finger tip.
