This might be a members bike. Remember that guy at the bike night with the triumph bobber? He races a GSXR 750 with Track Addix and is from Columbia.

Wyattmulaw put me onto an ad for an '04 800SS, with 700 miles. The bike struck a deer and went down in '04, and has been in storage since. Damage appears to be cosmetic, which would be remedied with track plastics, anyway. He is only asking $1,800 for it.

I have been thinking about this all day! That ad just screams, "track bitch!!!" The 800SS is a bit down on power for my tastes, but I need work on form and cornering speed, anyway.

I would have to factor in the costs of track bodywork, slip-ons (factory mufflers = FAIL!, especially at the track), new belts, and new tires. Also, the 800SS's have pretty pathetic suspension, so that would be on the short list of must-haves.

The cost adds up. I also don't have any way to transport the bike, and it would not be street legal.

So, I suppose I'll have to drop the fantasy of acquiring a dedicated track bike for now.

That is, until I find a crashed 848!

I'm on the prowl for a track bike too. I missed out on a good one last week. I'd like to find an 03-06 zx6r. Preferably not too banged up. A non-title bike would be perfect!

yeah actually the guy who owns that ducati has been a family friend for as long as i have been in school and a cruiser rider for probably about 30 years. he was my scout leader in my younger days. he does a lot of paint work for me and is currently painting my bike right now. the bike looks good just is missing a few front fairing parts.

Larrys has an 06 R6. It would make a hell of a track bike! Trust me
