I misjudged a corner last spring and ended up taking a 50yd shortcut through the grass. Had I done that on the street, it would have been a hospital trip and a big repair bill for the bike at best. It's a bit of a drive to get there, but worth it. They let you camp in the paddocks, Scott and Connie are really lenient as long as you stay safe. It's pretty much like going camping with your family, except you get to ride the piss out of your motorcycle all day.

Hallett Schedule:

May:
18th - motorcycle lapping day
19th-20th - Pridmore Star School

June:
15th - motorcycle lapping day

July:
14th - motorcycle lapping day
19th-20th - MCRA motorcycle track days
25th-27th - CMRA races

August:
9th-10th - Nesba Sportibkes
17th - motorcycle lapping day

September:
6th-7th - motorcycle lapping day - rider appreciation weekend*
21st - motorcycle lapping day

October:
20th - motorcycle lapping day

November:
15th-16th - motorcycle lapping days

The rider appreciation weekend is a blast. It usually fills up early, but it would be a good one for us to go to. I've gone the last two years, we drive down Friday, camp out, drink beer, ride all day saturday, then they have bbq, music, pit bike races, and other fun stuff saturday night, then ride all day sunday, then drive home exhausted.

The MCRA weekend would be similar, but in July, when it will be even hotter (track gets greasy).

They're also prone to adding days, so check the schedule or get on the email list. I talked to Scott (owns the track) when I was down there in January, he said many of those single days will turn out to be two day events but they leave them open for rentals up until just a few weeks prior.

Its about the same distance from here to hallet as it is from houston to hallet, so it should be hard.. im assuming we gonna do another trackday spring of 09, so we can make it happen~

Track day...or track school!?! I'm waiting for Pridmore to post his '09 schedule, but here is Hallett's:

Hallett schedule for '09
April 19 -- Motorcycle lapping day
May 16-17 -- Central motorcycle racing (?)
June 28 -- Motorcycle lapping day
August 8-9 -- Central motorcycle racing
September 5-6 -- Motorcycle lapping days
September 20 -- Motorcycle lapping day

September 5-6 is a must. Two days at a bargain price = no brainer.

Well, there isn't going to be a Pridmore Star school at Hallett in '09...or anywhere else relatively close, for that matter. The closest is going to be at Hastings Motorsports Park in Nebraska on June 12 & 14.

I also just realized the two-day Hallett weekend is the weekend after the Indy GP. I don't know if I will be able to swing consecutive weekends. Time to start prioritizing...

I've got an email in to Connie about this. It seems like Pridmore was late in confirming their dates last year too. It may still be on. They've always done the school on or about Memorial Day. I sure hope they're still coming. I'm really wanting to go to that school. I'd like to have some expert instruction.
