Hello all, I am considering trading out my '08 lime green ninja for an '08, white gixxer sixxer. Which one would each of you choose from, as I am torn... I love mean green (current bike), but always loved the white gixxer color scheme as well... Thoughts? Opinions? Tell me to shove it? I posted a link to the gixxer that is for sale, currently I have the 08 lime green ninja with green wheels...

I'd do it if they'll give you a decent amount for your trade, wouldn't pay over $1500 difference ..if that, depends the condition of your bike, miles, etc..
Just don't the let dealer convince you that their bike is worth tons more like most try to do.

I have always though the white new body style gixxers where super sick. As Cody says, its the money that would matter to me.
You arent going to gain any performance or anything really other than a body style/color change. You have to weigh that. Is that worth whatever dollar value your going to have to part with?

What Falx said. You're going to be staying at the exact same performance level, give or take little baby differences here and there so you're paying for plastics and color.
Did you buy the Kawi new? How much did you give for it? How much do you think you can get in trade/private seller because the difference you'll be paying could be put towards some pretty bad ass mods, as opposed to buying a new bike just because of the way it looks. Say you pay $2k difference after trade. 2k is new paint/powdercoat of the entire bike, exhaust, intake, power commander, better springers, etc. I guess what I'm saying is that it's silly to trade the exact same year bike for a bike of equal performance just because you think it looks prettier. Then again, if you have the money to throw at it, I say go for it

Trading something that is not a gixxer for a gixxer is always a good idea.
...not really. But still. DO IT! |

@Jarvicious: I bought the kawi used from an individual, gave $6k for it, at the time it had 1700mi, now it has 4000mi. That is something I've thought of as well, it's purely cosmetic, they are the exact same motor's, hp, performance, etc. I have no complaints and love my kawi, but have always like the white scheme on the '08's gixxers a little better. Just trying to decide if it's worth the hassle or not. Forgive me, as I've never dealt with bike dealers, but assume they are like car dealers, and wouldn't give me alot for a trade in, is that right? As in I would take a loss if I were to trade out...

that gsxr will probably bring more down the road as a used bike if that matters to you.

Seems to me like it would be rather expensive for a cosmetic change. I don't think any of us here would be able to tell the performance difference between the two.

I have rode both a zx6r that year and a 2009 gsxr 600 and there is a big difference , maybe not in all out horsepower , but there is a huge difference in the way that they handle . saying that I would easily go with the gsxr
