I'm fixing to buy another bike in a few weeks. What I would like to find out is what the differences are in the cbrRR and gsxr. I loved my f4i, but I'm having a hard time deciding if I want a cbrRR or a gsxr...(600 of course) which is the better bike in your opinion and why? Thanks

the suzuki's are easier to work on. Better bike in my opinion but as far as normal everyday riding, all 4 big brands of 600s are pretty close to each other.

You will get 2 major trains of though on this one.
1.) brand loyal folks who will tell you to buy X brand, becuase thats what they know and ride 2.) Buy whatever you want folks, who will tell you they are all basically the same, you will never max one out, so just pick the one you like the looks of the best and go. im in group #2

I used to be a Honda guy. It was the only bike I'd consider. I used to bash on the gixxer squids every chance I got. Then I rode my current bike, a 2006 GSX-R750. I LOVED it! It's comfortable, fast (it's a 750), easier to work on, looks good, and has one thing no Hondas have; a gear position indicator.
But like Cody said, all the bikes are pretty much the same performance-wise. Ride what you can, sit on what you can't, then buy the bike that you like the best.

my brother had an f4i , I rode it a couple of times , my wife has a gsxr 600 , completly different riding positions , f4i is alot like a jockey seat position more upright ,legs more straight below you. gsxr has adjustable rear sets but have never moved them , but it is a way more track like position alot more responsive to turns , I really like the gsxr alot better , more power ,slipper clutch , steering dampner ,

Okay, what is a gear position indicator? Do all the GSXR's have that? And, are all the seats adjustable? I know I had issues riding the CBR on long rides because of the seat...was not very comfortable.

Not sure "all" GSXR's have that, but most recent ones do. Recent being post 2000. Kinda thought most recent big 4 600s had them, but could be wrong. Most 600s seats aren't adjustable, but the GSXR has adjustable rear sets. Not sure what other 600s have adjustable thingers. Early CBRRR seats were shiat, but I always read that f4's were comfortable /shrug. All current 600s / 1000s are not "really" built for long term ride comfort. I think my 06 GSXR is comfortable compared to other similar bikes, but it is still not something that feels great after a 3 hour ride for the most part. |

I've heard the GSXR is the easiest to work on and an overall solid bike, but also heard the 07+ CBR is hard to beat. I've only owned a Daytona 600 and an R6, so I can't give you any personal experience.
It mainly comes down to styling and comfort, pick the one you like the best because performance wise all of the newer 600's are similar. Last edited by Cody; 02-01-2011 at 10:58 PM. |

It really does come down to comfort and styling. Performance (as in how fast they'll all get around a racetrack) is pretty much the same, although a bike like the Triumph 675 or the Ducati 848 will have much more low end torque while the R6 I rode had NOTHING below 10k rpms. IMHO: Seating - The GSXR is very comfortable. You sit down in the bike, the seat is nice and soft, the rearsets (pegs) are adjustable. The CBR, Daytona, and R6 aren't as comfortable (although the CBR is better than it used to be). You sit "on top" of the bike and feel like you're about to do a handstand all the time. I cannot speak for the Kawasaki because I've never ridden one but I "think" it's more like the Suzuki. Ducati is traditionally a torture rack. I think the Italians purposely make their bikes uncomfortable.
