Saturday is October 1, the official start of Octoberfest. If and when you plan a ride use caution around the local wineries.

I generally avoid (or avoided when I actually got to ride) holiday weekends and Friday/Saturday nights for the same reason.

Holiday weekends don't bother me, but I'm with you on not riding on Friday and saturday nights, you'll never see me out then.

Very good point. I'd rather be at home on Friday and Saturday with a glass of wine anyway.
