Motorcycle boots, over-the-wrist motorcycle gloves, and a riding suit. Hallett is pretty relaxed about the suit. They allow one- and two-piece suits, leather or textile. I think textile is fine for some beginner riders, but think leather is mandatory for anyone giving it a little stink. Hallett rents suits if you don't have one.

Bike prep at Hallett is easy, too. Tape over your headlights, taillight, and turn signals with blue painters tape, and remove passenger pegs. Don't show up with used up tires.

Tires don't have to be NEW, they just can't be worn out. A day on the track is worth about a month on the street. Also, no leaking fluids on the bike. If you have the means, safety wire the oil drain plug. Helmet cannot be crashed either and you have to have some kind of back protector, even if it's just the foam pad that came with the jacket.
