The problem you're gonna run into with a .50 is there isn't anywhere to let it do it's work. I can't think of any location that I would be comfortable shooting something that is capable of a mile kill. That's just me. Cody, any time I go shooting you are more than welcome to shoot my guns (I might even sell you one!)...... Just bring your ammo and knock yourself out. I'll keep you in the loop if we go soon.

Update. A buddy of mine may be coming into town this weekend to go shooting so if you folks are free Sunday it's probably going down. He's bringing in his AR and his short guns and I'm probably going to try and finish sighting in my .222. Fingerlakes was the plan (because of the long guns) but it's going to be chilly so either we find a different spot or you bring your cold weather stuff
 P.S.- anyone have a line on cheapish 9mm? The only places I've found it is for $2x per 50. If I were going to shoot that expensive I'd buy a 45.

I actually found a bunch today at Wallyworld for a good price so I stocked up a bit. I do have a couple boxes of the Independece as well, but I haven't shot any of them. That's a bit cheaper than what I paid, I can assure you
While I'm thinking about it, does anyone know anything about Mausers? My Uncle just left me a Mauser Model 98 30-06 (not the 1898, I don't think) that I'm pretty excited about taking hunting this year. I have to get it scoped, but other than that it seems to be in pretty good shape. I just don't know anything about them. I don't even know what time he's coming in to town tomorrow so I'll have to post up tomorrow evening with a plan. That is if Fingerlakes is going to be dry.....

A 98 Mauser in 30-06 sounds like a nice piece. A scope mount for that should be easy to find a little bit of a challenge, but not impossible to find. I would careful shooting hot loads with it. If you need help working up some loads for it I have dies for that caliber.
