Default Speeding Ticket!!!!!!
i got my first speeding ticket on the bike Sunday, JCPD said i was doing 79 in a 55. Has anyone heard of getting out of a ticket (in court) due to sprocket changes?

You can get a lawyer and try to go with a defective equipment plea, but trying to go it on your own is a low-percentage shot.

well, if they where smart they would know that changing sprocket - in front and + in back makes the speedometer off higher not lower~

my speedo says about 100 if im doing 80.

other than that, they will just say its your responsibility to know~

I got one in montgomery city on 19 He lock on @ 79 in a 55 cost me 150. lawyer fee and 235. fine mended to defective equipment.

just go talk to the prosecuting attorney, no need to pay a lawyer unless you have a real bad record. Just see if the prosecuting attorney is willing to work it out with you. Usually they are reasonable.

I got lawyer for my ticket....Paid the lawyer 125, the court cost and ticket was 225. It was lowered to defective equipment. If you would like his name let me know.

You can try this and that would be my first choice, but some Counties are greasing each others palms. They won't let you speak with the Prosecutor to amend your own ticket. I don't know where you got it, but I know Washington County works that way. A lawyer is your best bet.
