Idk about the gearing on your 750 but on mine i found i could just keep it in 2nd the whole track. The only time it would have even been necessary to change hear would be on the straight or turn 2

doesn't mean you can't still ride them on the street.

that's why I think a 600 is a lot more fun on the track. Staying in one gear is booooring.

2nd, 3rd, and 4th at Hallett. 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th (maybe 6th if I had bigger balls) at Heartland Park. Geared -1+2 is about right for Hallett. HPT could probably go +0-2 or -2+2.

I run 2nd, 3rd and 4th on my 999 at Hallett (although I usually only hit 4th for a second or two). Heartland Park has some longer straights, so I could stay in 4th for an additional second or two.

Pridmore didn't say NOT to blip on downshifts. He taught his way, which is A way, not necessarily THE way. Blipping can't be all bad...there are a bunch of racers in AMA, WSBK, and MotoGP who do it.

Absolutely. If you find yourself at too low of an rpm for the speed you're going, then by all means, you need to blip the throttle to get the rev's back up to match speeds. To be honest, I don't really let off the throttle all that much so it's kind of like a "constant blip" when I downshift anyway. That was the real gist of what Pridmore was saying. You're not "not blipping" because blipping is wrong, but because you don't really want to be in a situation where you have to blip.

I've watched A LOT of the AMA guys do it and the WSBK guys too. The MotoGP guys probably don't have to.

And Earz, iirc, somebody asked specifically about the blip. It wasn't in the curriculum.

After reading the March Roadracing World, it appears that AMA Superbikes (and if they have it everyone above them does too) have an "auto-blip" feature that gives the bike just a squirt of gas on downshifts to smooth things out.
