ps - if your playing it on console go ahead and quit skyrim and life

13 minutes would basically place you nowhere in any shape or form into this open world sandbox adventure game. I actually didn't start enjoying the game until about 5 hours in and got a decent grasp on the scope and cohesive world design. User interface is horrible, voice acting is stale, starting scripted event is ...unimpressive. World design and art is great. Leveling system is "rpg'ish" but can let you build a completely ineffective character because it gives you rpg options but is not an rpg game truly. One damaging track of character progression is that you can rapidly gain skills due to crafting, but the real strength comes from perks. Perks have prerequisites due to skill, so gaining skill levels in a skill let you advance it and make it more powerful. That makes decent sense. The pitfall is that since this isn't a true role player, but more action, you need combat skills. Your perk tree and skills involve crafting and speech, but you will get the shit kick out of you if that is what you level up on because a certain amount of world monsters level scale with you. If you are level 1 and fight a level 1 thinger you are even. If you are level 5 but got level 5 by speech and crafting, then the thing you fight can be level 5 and kick the ever loving shit out of you. One of the pitfalls of the level scaling system. If levels were stationary (and they are for some things), then the level 5 blacksmith can still put up a fight against the level 2 wolf. You (shapeless) mention loving rpgs, which do you love? |

Well, I like SW:TOR and WoW (2005 - 2010).
...so I guess I like them, I may have overstated my RPG affection.

Right now im running a hybrid type character, i am basically one hand/light armor/restoration. I leave one hand open and fight with a sword, all the while keeping the channeled self heal in other slot, right now I have yet to die to anything except an ogre (i didnt realize they could 1 hit me into outer space)
