Talking work in progress

Hubby & I just got done replacing 2nd/6th gears on our 94 Ninja zx6 (with the help of the Haynes service manual and the internet)... Now the next step is to paint the fairings! I'm hoping that it will be road ready by the end of the month!

I hope your teardown wasn't near as big an undertaking as mine. I've tore down a lot of engines before but nothing quite like a sport bike engine.

It probably took 4-6 hours total (spread over a 4 day period). The bike was much easier to put back together than take apart.. it was the first time we had ever messed with any kind of engine. The repair manual really helped. The biggest pain was when we couldn't get the retainer plate for the shift drum off. We had to bring it to a machine shop to get two screws broke loose (costed us 25 bucks grrrrrr)

Glad it's done tho. The parts costed us 500 but we saved a lot of money doing it ourselves. Good luck getting your bike back together
