Default From DeSoto, MO

Hello,
I just found this site and it's good to see other MO riders. I own a 1982 Honda CB750F SuperSport as seen here:

I put euro handlebars, GSXR Master Cylinder and GSXR 36mm Carbs on it so far. I have a lot of fun on that old bike.

I also have a 2004 Suzuki Katana, but it is mainly a parts bike since it is wrecked. I haven't decided if I want to rebuild it or use parts off of it for the Honda.

Welcome. I had a 1980 750 Supersport. First bike that ever had me puckering up when I twisted the throttle.

Welcome. I like having more people riding these old dinosaurs!!

Good looking bike. I've got a buddy that has an '81 supersport.
How was the carb swap? Was it a direct swap or were there spacing issues? How was the jetting, any changes from the stock GSXR jetting? What year/engine size are the carbs from?

I ride an '85 Yamaha XJ700 with a CBR929 master cyl and slotted rotors from a Yamaha Radian. Just need to get some stainless lines and I can start doing stoppies J/K, this pig weighs too much to get the ass end off the ground.

I used 36mm slingshot carbs off of 1989-96 Suzuki Katana, or 1989 to 93 Suzuki GSXR (give or take a year or two). From what I understand any carbs from 1985-93ish carbs from the GSXR any size engine will work. I did have to make custom intake boots from radiator hose from AutoZone and steel sleeves from a local hardware store to reinforce the boots (I only have about $18 in the intake boots). The installation only took about 2 hours, it is the tuning that I am still messing with. I changed the Main Jet from the stock 105 to 125, and I am in the process of changing the Pilot Jet from stock 32 to 38. My bike screams from about 2500rpm up to redline, so I am trying to tune the quarter throttle. Idle is really smooth, It just bogs really bad between 1000 and 2500rpm. Once it's above 2500 it rips to redline. Alot of guys that have done this swap have just slapped on the stock GSXR carbs and been able to run them with success, but that wasn't the case for me. If your friend is interested in more info PM me and I will help out in any way that I can.
