I would try going to uShip - The Online Shipping Marketplace - Ship Freight, Furniture, Cars or Moves, they have different companies that offer the best prices for your shipping needs.

I've personally never shipped a vehicle so I won't suggest anything. Keep us informed though. I'm curious of who you go with, how much it was, and the speed and quality of their work.
I know Ammo has shipped a bike to Hawaii, but he was in the military at the time so I'm unsure if they covered his costs or if he did it privately. |

for military, our bikes go right in the same box as our household goods. shipped with the couch and dishes. as long as you stay within your weight limit, you can ship as many bikes as you want on the military's nickel
I suppose there is a reason Jimmy's wasn't done that way.... |

Yeah I didn't get the bike shipped with our goods because the bike was still in the shop getting the rebuild done. Although I might be able to get reimbursed through the travel office after I get the bike shipped.
As for the company mentioned above, I heard that company's like that tend to ship your bike with other people's household goods and what not. I've never heard good things.

if I recall right, on Uship you tell what you have, where its at and where its going and folks *bid* on the job. anyone can do the hauling. When I first retired I was zig-zagging all over the nation picking up and delivering bikes bought/sold on ebay. U-ship was just coming online then. I never used the service to find loads so I have no more info than that

U-Ship is really popular, and the shippers are usually bonded and insured.

uship has a reality show with 6 or 7 people who bid on things. In general they seem to do a good job. Of course, it could all be editing.
I think on uship there is also a feedback thing, so you might put a disclaimer stating only people with positive motorcycle shipping feedback apply :P

When I was looking to have a bike I bought shipped from Ontario, OR uship was the cheapest I found. I didn't want to wait so I flew out there and rode it back.
A couple other shipping co. that I checked out was. I've read good things about. https://www.forwardair.com/prepaid/MCmainpage.jsp Also Motorcycle shipping and motorcycle freight – FreightCenter.com

I used ForwardAir when I shipped an '87 FZR1000 to Las Vegas. The container I loaded the bike into was good...it had a tire rail in the center and tie-down cleats. When I was done it was pretty solid. The buyer said it arrived in as-described condition.
That was several years ago, but back then I had to deliver the bike to a ForwardAir terminal (St. Louis airport) to load it. At the time I lived in Eldon. A friend helped me load it into his truck and we drove to the airport. When we arrived, the container I was supposed to use was there, but it had another bike in it that hadn't been picked up yet. So, we had to drive back to Eldon, and try again a few days later. Serious pain in the ass, and I was not happy about it. Lesson learned...make a phone call and ensure the container is empty and available before making the trip.
