That last corner is a prime example of why I don't root for HRC. That was just ridiculous the way Stoner just motored right past Ben as if he had an extra gear. Ben was the better rider and it showed in how he caught, passed, then gapped the Hondas on a slower bike, only to be robbed at the end like that.

It was the same thing with Stoner the year he won with Ducati too. Ducati got it all right with the 800 and especially the electronics package. They were the first to REALLY dive into the deep end with it. The next year, the Japanese robbed a bunch of the technicians away and the field was level again (sort of).

If I were in Stoners boots, I'm not sure if I would have let Spies get a win in his first year on MotoGP (right?), but I would like to think I would have. I'd still get the championship, Honda still wins, but he out drove every rider on the field that day, in the rain, and was absolutely robbed by the HRC bike.

Wrong on both accounts. That was Spies' second year in MotoGP, AND he had already won once last year, at Assen.
