We will then take the crane with a clamshell bucket and a excavator out on the water and load all of it out of the river. There isn't really any rubble. We stripped all the old asphalt off the road surface, then slabbed the concrete deck and pulled it off with an excavator.

The State Environmentalist are pretty picky with the smaller rivers in Missouri and what goes into them and gets left behind. They do a pretty good job of trying not to upset the wildlife and their habitat.

Early this Spring we had to jump through hoops to make sure we didn't disturb the Swallows when they migrated up and laid their eggs. It was a complete pain.

I really couldn't say. They just kept calling them Cliff Swallows.

Bridge demolition is one of my favorite past times. We once deconstructed a bridge for a local town (North Carolina when I was stationed at FT Bragg) and then our vertical and horizontal engineers built a new one in it's place. Talk about a good trade off! The old bridge was a timber truss with concrete abutments. We came up with a brilliant shot diagram and it worked flawlessly. Several weeks later they had a brand new bridge and we had some awesome training.

Let's make Tergin's the final meeting place. We can ride through Meta, St. Elizabeth, and to the bridge. Como and Ashland guys want to meet at the Fast Lane at the Ashland overpass? We can talk more about it Monday night at Bike Night.
