Hey guys, It's Nicole. I haven't had time to read through all of this but thought I would make a few comments. First, I will be going to the pridmore school in High Plains CO on the 13th and 14th of July. July 31 and Aug 1 in Kansas sounds miserable to be working my but off in 20lbs of cow hide. I could probably have room for more if anyone is seriously interested PM me. Also, FYI the pridmore school does not qualify you for a race liscence, you must take a race liscensing clinic. They offer them for CCS at the gateway trackdays (which I will be attending if anyone needs a ride).
2nd, I am at the race track in one capacity or another 2-3 weekends a month all summer long. I have often put the word out for people to join me and never get any takers. Everyone is always broke or doesn't have the time. I just drove to and from MAM by myself this weekend, got in this morning about 2am after riding all day and was up for work at 6am. If anyone is ever interested in sharing a ride to trackday/races let me know. 3rd, as Ron already pointed out racing is a huge commitment!!! Not only financially, but physically, and timewise. Racing is EXPENSIVE to your wallet, your body, and your relationships. |

i understand i dont really know anyone here. so what do i have to do to prove myself and get in the seat? ive already offered up a whole motorcycle, im an experienced motorcycle mechanic, i have attended race schools, do i have to mention that my father raced ama in the 70's with frank kinsey, dave dispain, sito pons, ed bargy and many others. or maybe that my uncle tony built the 1st turbo ducati monster featured in several motorcycle magazines, owned a ductai dealership in daytona, and owned several alchemy race teams. Who's ass do i have to kiss here? i dont care what i need to do, I WANT TO RACE. i dont care if it is a suzuki, or a damn hyosung. i want to put my knee down.

my opinion would be its not your resume, but how you carry yourself and your attitude. get up this way for some bike nights, make some group rides, just get to know everyone.

Brother I understand where you are coming from, but nobody knows you from adam. Your pretty new here, and everyone starts out that way, but you just have to be part of the larger community. You have gotta show your face at rides, events, and just be active in the forum as well as real life type stuff.

I don't think it has anything to do with knowing you or not. I think it has more to do with the fact that this thing is barely off of the ground at this point. Everything has been talk. Until a bike is being built, there isn't any point in deciding who rides it.

I don't want to drop names, but I have lived within 20 miles of a dealership that has sold 3 of the major MotoGP winning manufacturer's brands for the past 20 years. ...and as others have stated, it is still in it's infancy, early stages... long away from solid choices. I personally (while willing to help in any capacity) would be surprised to actually see this come to fruition this year. Last edited by fallout; 06-22-2009 at 07:17 PM. |
