I want to know what you guys think about the new four wheeler i might be getting. Right now i got a 2003 Honda Trx250ex that's shaft driven. But I found another one thats a 2005 Honda Trx300ex and its chain driven but its the same price as i got the 250ex for (2000$$$). so post tell me what you think.

you will like the chain drive over the shaft drive and there is alot of aftermarket parts you can get for the 300ex. i also have a 300 myself and i love it.

Does it have more torque than my 250ex?

the nice thing about chain drive over shaft drive is that you can change your gearing for more torque or more topend fairly easily (and inexpensively) by changing sprockets. The 300ex is a great unit and has been around forever, so you don't have to worry about the new model "bugs". There are definately a lot more aftermarket parts availble for the 300ex that the 250ex, but those parts are slowly getting harder and harder to find. Since the 300 is no longer being made - the aftermarket companies are not developing new products for the 300, and every year it will get harder to find aftermarket goodies for it.
The 300ex is also manually clutched, unlike the 250ex centrifugal clutch. So you may take that into consideration. It is nice that the 300ex has reverse - although the reverse mechanism can sometimes be a hassle in certain situations - there's ways around that though.

First of all they still are making the 300. Second of all i didnt get it cause its a piece of crap. It had problems like loss of compression, the clutch was crap, and the shocks sucked.

and I had no idea that they were still making the 300. In '09 they changed the model from the 300EX to 300X but it looks the same to me. I haven't seen a 300EX newer than '03 and was suprised to hear about the '05.
If it's a piece of crap - don't waste your time.
