Default Suspension tuning?

Is there anywhere relitivly close to Jeff City that i can take my bike to get the suspension set up for my weight. I really want to get it done because it will help my cornering feel. I only weigh about 150 maybe 160 with gear and my bike is set a little stiff for my weight. Any info would be greatly appriciated. Thank you.

Yes, for suspension I would give our sponsor DBM a call, all the contact info is in thier sponsor forum at the bottom of the main index.

You might check the owners manual if you haven't already to see what it suggests. I am guessing that you are not the original owner of the bike, so who knows what the bike is set up for.

Sag is easy, you're light enough to get it set right without aftermarket parts. It takes a couple extra sets of hands, but it's not a complicated process. Directions can be found all over the web.

Damping is a different story. You've only got low speed damping so it's not too complicated, but it can get confusing. To make it really simple, you want the suspension to move through it's cycle in one up and down motion, as quickly as possible, without bouncing.

Thats what i am worried about. I was wondering if you think i would have to put a little softer springs on it because i think our bikes are set up for like 180 to 200 pound rider from the factory. Correct me if im wrong but we should have close to the same suspension set up on our bikes right? Idk i don't pay that much attention. I believe that i can set it up myself as long as i dont have to put different springs on it because i am a mechanic and have also worked on bikes for a long time. What do you suggest i do?

Your bike is set up for a 140-160lb Japanese man. It should be perfect for you. I weigh about 200lbs. I've had to buy stiffer fork springs and have also revalved the forksand put on a penske shock to better match my weight.

Sag is the important factor. The reason you need extra people is because you need one to hold the bike up and one to measure while you sit on it.

I can help you if you want to ride by the house. It won't take but a minute to properly set your suspension. Just be sure and bring your spanner wrench for the rear spring. I don't know where mine is.
