Default Audio while riding...

Anyone have insight on this? I know some helmets have it built in, and I've seen people with audio on their motorcycles, just not sure how everyone does it! If you get a sec throw me some methods and insight!

My favorite audio is between 4000-12000 RPM

Earbuds will be the cheapest solution and you can take your helmet off without forgetting to "unplug" the helmet speakers. You can get wireless/Bluetooth helmet speakers, but then you have to remember to recharge the batteries, and you'll need a Bluetooth capable iPod/mp3 player.

think about it before you add another distraction into the mix.

You know, I've ridden with and without audio for years and I have gotten to the point that I think it's more tiring/distracting to ride with no audio or hearing protection. The earbuds help to block out a lot of the wind noise and as long as the music isn't blaring you can actually hear more of the important stuff.

The caveat would be that you must use earbuds that seal the ear canal (or just ear plugs) and you need to put the mp3 player in your pocket and LEAVE IT ALONE until you stop.

And I will admit that I ride a whole lot faster with ear plugs in because I'm so much more relaxed.

the op already stated in another thread that he is a new rider - there's plenty of hazards to manage without adding one by choice.

Yes, but if he's going to do it anyway, he might as well have decent info. My dumbass rode around for a long time with open earphones taped into my helmet with the music at full blast to compensate for the wind noise. I'm lucky I'm not deaf.

Tight fitting earbuds are where it's at. The stock Apple earbuds are horrible and should die a bloody death. I prefer JVC marshmallows or am currently using a set of Sonys. To get a real snug fit, get some earplugs and punch a hole in them so the earbuds fit inside them. Like this:

Or you could get real crazy and go this route:
