Default HID HALO ANGEL lights for R6

Looking into installing a set of hid halo angel eye light kit on my 2001 R6. Has anyone seen and/or done one of these? Im going for a good quality kit. Seems to run about $200. Plug and go, (yeah right). Anyways, any info would be helpful. I've included a link to the store I was looking at ordering from. Thanx Ebay link - YAMAHA YZF R6 98 01 02 HID PROJECTOR CCFL HEADLIGHT KIT : eBay Motors (item 260548025094 end time Feb-10-10 16:53:17 PST)

I looked in to doing that on my GSXR, the kit I looked at you had to bake (in the oven) the light to pull apart the lens and the light install the lights install the new seal and re-bake the light to reseal the housing. I opted no to do the kit. I didn't want to take the chance on something not sealing right. They do look really cool. If you have any luck your bike would look awsome!

Lots of people do the baking headlight thing, of course the bulbs are out, but it allows you to gum up that glue and get in there. I almost did it with My RSX headlights on multiple occasions but chickend out

When I was growing up plug and play ment that you had a new part that got installed... Modifying a stock part seems a little reckless, but that's just me.

Totally agree. Reckless for sure. Hence my hesitation. I've contacted the manufacturer to find out the full install info on the product. It says on the website that there is no "modification" needed. Just plug and go install. Im hoping to get better clarification on that.

That would be amazing if they're not fibbing.

UPDATE: They are fibbing. They're response informed me that the front lens will have to be removed. I've ordered another headlight assembly from salvage company, ($25). I'll try it on that one. That way if I screw it up, I will be able to still have my original assembly in good condition. I will be posting picture and description of mod once I get it done.

From everything I have seen, its not too hard at all. There are thousands and thousands of guys who have done it with RSX headlights they bake em, pull em, paint the inside housings black, then reapply sealent and close them up.
